Sexuality

The Personal Life section states nothing but the fact Rip Taylor is a homosexual. I don't see how this is particularly relevant, especially since there is no other information about said personal life.

Should we state on heterosexual celebrity articles that they are heterosexual? - Let's begin bringing Wikipedia into the modern-day and age. - Jesse96 (11 September 2015, 15:58)

Taylor's response: [1] Maineartists (talk) 23:45, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
People do not have to come out as heterosexual. Heterosexuality is the default setting that will be automatically assumed in the absence of any statement to the contrary, not a thing that actually has to be spelled out as "so-and-so is heterosexual" — but at any rate, heterosexual celebrities' articles do make note of their sexuality anyway, by including information about their wives and girlfriends and kids. I have no personal knowledge about whether Taylor is "openly" gay or not, so I can't speak to that — but if a person is openly gay, there's nothing "modern" about pushing him back into the closet by not acknowledging the fact. The idea that a person's outness about his sexuality is not a thing to mention or acknowledge at all is depressingly throwback, not "modern" in any way. Bearcat (talk) 14:44, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Filmography

Does anyone think we should add the films and television shows he was on? Matt Campbell (talk) 00:49, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

This section pretty much covers it. Adding a complete list makes WP seem like IMDb. A better task would be finding sources supporting those already mentioned. — Wyliepedia @ 06:51, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Not done, unsourced. As with most of the page, an exhaustive list of his appearances on television is unsourced. The Ed Sullivan appearances are. — Wyliepedia @ 06:46, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

The info box listing the dates of the relationship with his partner as (????–2019) is sloppy. We don't list the end date if the relationship was still existing when the subject died and we shouldn't list the start date as ????. Can someone just remove the dates please? 208.98.222.37 (talk) 11:19, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Done The end date of the relationship is implicit, after all. Sceptre (talk) 21:40, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Birthdate Incorrectly Updated

I see his birthday was changed at the top of the article, but not on the bio column on the right. Since he just passed away and every other new source says we was 84 and that is the column that people see on google, would it be pertinent to verify and update that as soon as possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.174.114.154 (talk) 16:45, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
