Missed the point of the song[edit]

Two main points.

The outro (which was removed in the re-release, this should also be mentioned) includes nothing concerning homophobia or antisemitism, including those as relevant to the songs meaning is misleading and purely ideological. Although the KKK may have stood for those things, it's in no way tied to the meaning of the song.

Secondly, there's nothing in this article about the true meaning of the song. Yes, the subject matter is around police brutality and racism, however the main point pressed (as is obvious in the lyrics) is that people react the wrong way to these things, fighting fire with fire so-to-speak. The name of the song is Riot because he's speaking out against them. It's not per se about the lack of consequences, it's about the irony of the reaction. This is why he released the song after two infamous moments of tension and rioting in the US. XXX's objective was to speak out against the hypocrisy of reactionary rioters. Anyone who's actually listened closely to the song can understand that. ZenithFromBalance (talk) 14:34, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
