Gough[edit]

I think it is he, too, as there is no other Gough who would seem to fit Richard Hooper's reference to Gough, expecting the reader as he did to know exactly whom he meant by just 'Gough'. The dates fit. Gough's article on Richard Field was published in the now non-existent(?) Volume VI of the edition of Biographia Britannica edited by Andrew Kippis and published (if it ever was published) sometime in or after 1793 (Gough died aged 73 in 1809). Chalmers' transcription of Gough's article, published in his Biographical Dictionary deos survive. Verntheurn (talk) 11:23, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
