Merge with short dance[edit]

The article states " The structure and rules for the RD. however, remained essentially the same". So if it is the same thing as short dance why does renaming it warrant its own article? Setenzatsu.2 (talk) 15:41, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Setenzatsu.2, I was the one who created the RD article after the ISU renamed the SD. At the time, I proposed on the SD's talk page that the new article be created, and when there was no discussion pro or con, I went ahead and created it. I'm not unopposed to merging the two articles, though, since enough time has passed and there probably won't be any confusion. Requirements section[edit]

Everyone, I'm thinking that we should remove the subsections for each season and replace them with requirements for the current one, as they're published by the ISU in their communications every year, as has been done in Free dance (ice dance). If we don't, I can see this article getting unwieldy with too much repetitive content. Please discuss; if there's none in 7 days (7/19), I'll take silence as agreement and I'll make the changes. Everyone, this has been discussed already, at Talk:Short_dance#Merger_proposal, but I thought that we should discuss it here because a merger would mean that this article would go away. Since enough time has passed that it looks like the ISU isn't going to make another change regarding the first segment in ice dance, I think that now is a good time to merge Rhythm dance and Short dance. If there's consensus or if there's no discussion, I'll go ahead and combine the content from both articles at the Rhythm dance article. I also think that the season requirements here shouldn't be included in Rhythm dance.
