The article was moved today without prior discussion, but with the edit note explanation "He is an Estonian, no need to use the French transliteration". The Estonian language uses the Latin alphabet, so the concept of transliteration seems out of place here, but the issue is what his name is, not the language. Absence of diacritics, esp in English language sources, is rarely of probative value: it indicates laziness or lack of awareness as to how to get the diacritics on screen. the article on the name lists many examples of the accented name outside the francophonie, so the fact that he is not a native French speaker indicates little. Accents can be found in his name on his employer's website, www.cyclingwebsite.net, www.cycle-racing.com, and www.cyclingnews.com, among others: there might be assumptions here on the part of some riders given the prominence of the French language in his sport. If there is evidence that Rene, unaccented, is a commonly given first name in Estonia, or if there are reliable sites that give diacritics consistently and reliably, but do not do so in this case, I could be persuaded otherwise, but in the absence of a personal website, his team site is the nearest we have to an authoritative source close to him, and so the strongest evidence is that there should be an acute accent on that e.
