Different version[edit]

I have two different versions of this CD, one of them may be a limited edition and contains 9 tracks, though some of these tracks may simply be from the original CD and 'broken down' into smaller segments. Is it worth a new article, or an update to the track listing? Stephenjh (talk) 19:29, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I guess not. Stephenjh (talk) 16:50, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The original Verve LP release (1960) had six tracks - four on side 1 and two on side 2. The first CD release, by Rhino (1990), split two of those tracks into two parts each, and added a new item, from an unrelated Brandeis University discussion, featuring Kerouac, of November 1958, making a total of nine tracks in all. The later CD reissue, by Verve (1997) lacked the Bradeis discussion and so had just eight tracks. Incidentally, the original recordings were made in the first week of March 1958, in New York. Thanks for the information Stephenjh (talk) 20:42, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect recording date[edit]

This Verve album was recorded in March 1958, rather than 1959. It was not the final album recorded by Kerouac. 'Blues and Haikus' was recorded the following year, in July 1959. Pitoucat (talk) 15:10, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
