  • Agree. The article to be merged would seem to be another version of this game. --Edlin2|Talk 04:58, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Should be merged and so should Reader Rabit 1 Monkeymonkey234 (talk) 02:08, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apple ][[edit]

I'm near-sure I played this on my ][GS WAY before 1989. This gives it an '86 release date: http://apple2history.org/history/appy/aha86.html Alvis (talk) 05:07, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An Apple IIGS version was first released in 1987 (there is a version 2.0 and 2.3, possibly other revisions as well) but it should be considered a hybrid 8-bit Apple II port rather than a full-fledged 16-bit native Apple IIGS version. Only the digital audio (recorded human speech) is GS-specific, otherwise the graphics are Double-Hi-Res, and the programming code (and speaker sound effects) are all 8-bit IIe/IIc. In fact, apparently you can run the IIGS version 2.3 on an Apple IIc Plus (or IIe/IIc with 3.5 floppy drive) and it will run just fine, other than lacking the digitized speech.
Incidentally, there were no other versions of the software available for the IIGS as far as I'm aware. This article lists 'Math Rabbit' and 'Writer Rabbit' available for the IIGS, which is incorrect, as they were only 8-bit Apple II ports produced. It also mentions an Apple IIGS port of Reader Rabbit dating from 1984, two years before the machine was publicly released. This needs to be corrected. --Apple2gs (talk) 01:51, 10 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted vandalism on article page[edit]

Somebody must've vandalized with caps lock on artist Pierre! 74.12.126.46 (talk) 02:37, 13 February 2011 (UTC) (Thomas)[reply]

Artist Pierre has a FRENCH ACCENT? And who made that up? 74.12.126.46 (talk) 02:41, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Connor McBryer M. D.?[edit]

  • Are you making this up? It sounds like something from a Reader Rabbit spoof. "Connor is Wordville's enemy, but now he's not because they helped him get the sound back on his computer, and he falls in love with Vermina and sings her song, but in his own way." I don't get it, is he playing Reader Rabbit Math Adventures Ages 6–9 on his computer or something?

spyware[edit]

What? No mention of the Reader Rabbit spyware? This will have to be addressed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 105.225.152.97 (talk) 16:33, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Personalized versions?[edit]

There is virtually no mention of the personalized versions of Reader Rabbit.

What are the differences between the personalized and classic versions? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.73.49.194 (talk) 09:42, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reader Rabbit complete revamp[edit]

Hi @Maplestrip:, @PresN:, @Czar:, @Masem:, @The1337gamer:, @Anarchyte:, @Aoba47:, @Deltasim: ! As I said in a recent edit summary where I nuked all the fancruft in Reader Rabbit, this article is terrible, which is a shame as it is one of the most commercially successful and popular edutainment series ever. I really want to work on this series article, but to be honest I'm not even sure where to start. I'm a little bit overwhelmed by the breadth of sources and information out there. What are your assessments of this article and the direction moving forward? Would you be willing to collaborate on this "High-importance" (in Wikiproject:Education) and "Mid-importance" (in WP:VG) article?--Coin945 (talk) 07:46, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Coin945: Thank you for considering me for this project, and I wish you all the luck for this. Unfortunately, I am going to very busy in the near future as I will moving and starting a new job, as well as doing completing my degree and doing work outside of my job. This will leave me unable to do any heavy-lifting for an article like this. Currently, I am only revising the articles that I already had passed for GA to try and get them promoted to FAs, and the only new content I may be working on for the near future are lists as they are somewhat easier to do and manage rather than the larger commitment of an article. I would suggest that you look at other articles (ideally articles on a video game series) for guidance on what to do, and take everything in small bite-sized pieces so you do not get overwhelmed right away. This will take time so don't pressure yourself to get too much done right away. Otherwise, good luck again. I am sure you will do a wonderful job as you really were the lead when creating and expanding Madeline video games. Sorry for not being as much help as you would like me to be right now. Just have to get back into real life stuff lol. Aoba47 (talk) 18:31, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not my kind of article, though I hope you'll find someone else who is interested in improving this ^_^; ~Mable (chat) 20:02, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @Maplestrip: and @Aoba47: for your comments. I've posted to the WP:VG page to gauge the interest of the larger community.--Coin945 (talk) 04:39, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
