Playing style

The entire Playing Style section is deplorable, and the last sentence is outlandishly manipulative and biased, beginning with fawning praise and ending with a vicious attack. In any case, it is certainly nothing that one would find in a real encyclopedia. Even the sentence about his "tendency" to bite trophies makes it sound like a dog gnawing on the couch leg. Um, pointing out that "some" have criticized Nadal's playing style and longevity is a fact, and it's even cited. Nowhere in the statement does it say that those critics are correct in their assessment, it just says that the criticism is out there. Plus, criticisms levied against public figures are commonly found in Wikipedia entries, and a lot of them have ENTIRE ARTICLES devoted to documenting said criticisms, not just a single line. So yeah, that sentence on criticisms of Nadal's playing style is a vicious attack... If you live in Pansytown.—Alger82 (talk) 06:06, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

From this site, a very good reference I suppose, it says in part of the page "Perhaps the fastest man on tour and certainly the tour’s most feared defensive player. He owns a heavy, hooking left-handed forehand, a consistent and forceful two-handed backhand and some of the most hair-raising passing shots ever seen. I dont think is the place to attack nadals playing style. Everyone has their own opinion and if we start quoting everything that has been said about nadals playing style, wikipedia would be a mess. many have said that nadal is physically way more stronger than other s and is now a completely different player.

Plus. Not only nadal, almost every player on the atp has complained about the schedule, so that means that it is not related to his style of any sort. Winners of Slams on 3 Surfaces

A sentence in this link confuses me: [1]

He [Nadal] joined an elite group of just 12 men who have managed to win three Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces since the Open Era began.

Is this assertion incorrect? I combed the info we had on men's singles players and can only single out Connors, Wilander, and Agassi as the other in the "three surface" club with Nadal. Halp??—Alger82 (talk) 18:43, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I suppose so, other players has it, also I don't like in the intro "On October 18, 2008, Nadal clinched the year-end World No. 1 ranking for 2008.[13] The same year, he was given the prestigious Prince of Asturias Award for his achievements in sports.[14]" because this is a double mention for the date he reached no. 1, that award should go somewhere else or right after the 1st time the date is mentioned, agree? Factual error about previous Spaniard Wimbledon winners

This page on Rafael Nadal says he is the "second Spaniard" to win at Wimbledon. Actually he is the second male player from Spain to do so (the other being Manuel Santana in 1966) but Nadal is the third person since Conchita Martinez,a female player, also won the Championships in 1994. 83.173.160.38 (talk) 13:19, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Things change, I suggest only mentioning what matters, Nadal changed his shoes too, we cannot keep track of all the changes and every thing he wears, I suggest only mentioning Nike, and the pirate look thing he had before, and those other things that only matters, not the socks and the strings pressure etc, anyone agrees? Records error

The "records" section claims that Nadal's 8 calendar year ATP clay titles is a record.

Nicknames?

Where did Rafael pick-up all of these nicknames? If these are in fact his nicknames they should have at least two sources mentioning them to put them on wikipedia. I did the same for Federer, which should be done here! TennisAuthority 02:00, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

You can only back up two of those nicknames with sources, and those are: The King of Clay and Rafa, but really Rafa is just an acroynism for Rafael, and it is really not a nickname it is like James to Jimmy.TennisAuthority 05:27, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

records/ record attained

Removed "open era" section with details already present in other section. Plus an "open era records" section makes no sense for the player who has played only in open era. ^LeaveSleaves 13:07, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

At the time of writing it is saying Nadal had won the career grand slam with the US Open 2009 in the list of records. I can't see how to delete this, can someone do that please. - comment from Jamie, user without account, Sep 12th 2009.

Overall grand slam win/loss results mistaken

Hello. Nadal's overall grand slam win/loss result is 95/16, not 90/16 : just add the figures from every year and you will see. I cannot correct the mistake myself apparently as I'm not an "autoconfirmed user" Duong70 (talk) 08:14, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Is it me, or is the 2009 section ridiculously lengthy? I think some of those tournaments mentions could stand to be deleted or summarized far better. Although, there are quite a few tennis articles that suffer from every tournament they play in just needing to be mentioned in the paragraphed-years. oncamera^(t) 04:37, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
