Cleanup[edit]

There's a lot of irrelevant and unencyclopedic information on this page that is of interest to no one except students at the school, such as lists of counselors and which names they serve. I'm going to cut a few of these lists out and see about improving the quality of the entry text. nf utvol (talk) 17:07, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is still the case, e.g., the entire athletics section does not belong in an encyclopedia. This article is quite bloated. Greenth (talk) 13:48, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm yanking out the Athletics section. Event the only part with a citation, the rivalry section, cites another wiki article, which doesn't even support its statements of being the oldest rivalry in the US.nf utvol (talk) 15:52, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I yanked a great deal of the uncited and irrelevant information about clubs and athletics. I did replace it with some verifiable information about recent athletic accomplishments and available clubs.RMJ (talk) 19:42, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

David Brooks[edit]

Can anyone confirm that Brooks attended the school? I see that his wiki bio lists him as having grown up in Stuy Town in Manhattan. Obviously this isn't inconsistent with his having attended school in Radnor but it would be nice to get a cite.

  • I cannot confirm this at the moment, i'm currently in the process of looking for a cite, but there isn't much on his early life. I'll continue looking, and unless I find something, it will be removed. Michael Merali 18:00, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Update: Brooks attended the school. The school has him as a Hall of Fame member in their latest induction.151.197.114.196 13:10, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted his entry from the notable alumni section, as it was plagiarized word for word (see section below). However, he is listed on the Radnor alumni page. Someone may wish to legitimately re-add him. Greenth (talk) 13:50, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SAT Scores[edit]

What is the source of the average SAT scores posted in this article?Αεκος 00:48, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for updating the scores and adding the source to the SAT scores. Αεκος 01:13, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

David Brooks went to Radnor. His parents and he lived in Wayne across the street from us on Walnut Avenue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.98.41.60 (talk) 13:32, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jim Balk[edit]

"# Jim Balk - (coach) Longtime baseball coach Jim, now retired, had his number, 48, retired in a May ceremony."

What year? I Googled, and the only references I found was Wikipedia.

Delco Hi-Q and LifeSmarts[edit]

I just added a small section about Delco Hi-Q, a competition that Radnor is very much involved in. Also, should we remove the lifesmarts link? there is no lifesmarts article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.126.71.2 (talk) 18:27, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alumni Section is Plagiarized[edit]

Many alumni descriptions are plagiarized word-for-word from http://www.rtsd.org/599406291020/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=54027. I have removed only the ten or so that were stolen from that source, but someone should check the others as they may also be copyright violations. I deleted seemingly non-notable alumni (no sources, no wikipedia article) and left blank the descriptions for notable alumni with plagiarized descriptions. Those should be rebuilt: there is no reason someone cannot come up with a short description of David Brooks, for example, that does not violate copyright (the entry I deleted was plagiarized word-for-word from the above source). When re-adding alumni, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Lists_of_people and include sources confirming notability. Greenth (talk) 13:48, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is still an issue. When I get some time, I'm going to comb through it and remove all non-notable sources, rewrite plagiarized content, and use the "Hall of Fame" on the school's website to reconstruct. RMJ (talk) 19:46, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removing copy-edit tag[edit]

I've spent most of the afternoon deleting unnecessary and unverifiable information, and I've added a lot of verified information and references. The page is now much more concise and all facts are verified and accounted for. I feel comfortable removing the copy edit tag, but let me know if there are any changes that still need to be made or sections that need to be restored. RMJ (talk) 20:11, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
