Voice of Cape seperating from Radio 786[edit]

Previously these stations shared a common frequency and simply broadcasted on alternate days (e.g. 786 was on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and VOC was Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday)
Voice of the Cape has officially started transmitting on its own frequency (91.3 FM) in the Cape Metropolitan area on the 19th June 2013. However, the station still continues to broadcast on the shared frequency (100.4 FM) with Radio 786, and this will continue until the end of August. There are 3 additional frequencies that have always been operational - 95.8 FM, 90.9 FM and 89.8 FM. The station uses these frequencies to transmit to the outer laying areas of its broadcasting area where the main signal is not clear, or does not reach. The station has always broadcasted 24/7 on these frequencies. The station broadcast area covers the area from the Cape Metropolitan area to a radius reaching areas of Vredenburg, Morreesberg, Worcester, Robertson down to Grabouw.

@Tom Malinowski
Thanks, but do you have any sources for that?

Station's affiliation and antisemitism[edit]

Shouldn't it be mentioned that the station is known for its 1998 antisemitic broadcasting and subsequent trial defense? Also, shouldn't it be described in the first paragraph as Islamic? J E F-T (talk) 16:12, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have sources about the trial?
I wouldn't describe the whole station as Islamic, they have other coverage as well. I think I even noticed something about Yoga.
A connection to an Islamic media network is already mentioned, it's near the end, but the article is barely a paragraph long, so it's pretty much in the first paragraph.
