Real?[edit]

This isn't a real movie. 69.242.153.237 (talk) 01:33, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is - Brent Spiner, mentioned it in an article released this week. --Allemandtando (talk) 22:30, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Additional information[edit]

Can anyone find any additional information about this? I can turn up nothing beyond listings. --Allemandtando (talk) 22:32, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Voice changes or additions[edit]

There appears to have been some changes in the voice cast, or possibly some additions. While John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson and James Earl Jones are still voice actors on the film, Anne Archer, Christian Slater, Robert Picardo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lacey Chabert, and Michael York no longer appear to be associated with the project. It appears that William Shatner, Sandra Oh, Jason Alexander, Chris Pine, Abigail Breslin, Mark Hamill, Brent Spiner, and Neil Armstrong have replaced them, according to this page. Spiner confirmed he was on the project at Grand Slam and that Travolta and Jackson were still involved. I'm not sure as to the status of the others, though. --From Andoria with Love (talk) 01:53, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, Picardo is still part of the project; he talked about it here. Although Picardo didn't say it specifically, Sarah Michelle Gellar is also apparently still involved. They also state that Slater, Chabert, Archer, York, and Casey Kasem are part of the cast, but they likely got that info from IMDb and is hardly confirmation. However, it does seem that Shatner and the others are add-ons rather than replacements. --From Andoria with Love (talk) 02:46, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
From study of mumerous articles and blogs, and articles about the the very proactive Kloor, it is my sense that the early list of notables might indeed have been part of the film... but with the passage of time, and with the writer's stike, etc., many have not been able to keep thier commitment... though some may have done some ADR work. It is further my sense, that Kloor is quite the speaker... and by his keeping these major names associated to the project, even though they might no longer be so, allowed him to get the funding he needed. Before the fresh money, he officially lost Adrian Carr and David Warner. Point of fact... Travolta was to be the voice of Dave, but Chris Pine now has that role... so it may be accepted that many of the original planned voice actors had to move on to other things... just missing the 10 million funding influx in late 2007 / early 2008 [1] (just in time) and now the addition of Neil Armstrong and vaious SF heavies. Kloor's definitely keeping the project alive. Much about current cast and crew at this site. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 01:41, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Been bringing the article up past stub status......[edit]

I'm having a few problems sourcing the cast/crew changes from 2004 through 2010. Production had funding problems but finally got that squared away, as the double-PhD Kloor got additional funding from NASA and JPL. Then they had to deal with the writers strike. And of course, cast could not all stay comitted, and SMG actually had to drop from the cast in 2006 because of other commitments but sable to return in 2007... but then they lost original director Adrian Carr. Writer/producer Harry Kloor took up that reins, when Carr and David Warner left. I have found sources to indicate the inclusion of William Shatner, Chris Pine, Brent Spiner, Doug Jones and Jason Alexander in at least the excerpts shown at ComicCon, but no source has them yet officially listed as IN the film, though Spiner and Pine have been quoted about their parts in the film, and I can likely find quotes from the others about their participation... and Jason Thorton who came aboard in 2006 seems to have dropped out. I can source various year cast lists to show the changes. This is going to be ongoing. I feel like a detective hunting through all the various clues. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 08:06, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And looking over the "official" website, I found a preview trailer that does show Spiner, Alexancer, Shatner, Jones, Jackson, and Hamill as providing their character lines. I have written to production to find out if/when IMDB will be updated to reflect new changes, where such changes might be found at other sources, and iff there are sources that discuss the fundraising efforts and production snags.. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 18:10, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And an addendum, in case it was not obvious from the expansion of the article, I have indeed recieved communication from the film's production department that did much to point me in the right directiond for expansion and sourcing. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 23:07, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
