What does "Puy du Fou" mean? Why was that name chosen? --Error (talk) 19:25, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
This was the name of the castle, before there was a theme park there. According to the French version of the article: "The etymology, from the Latin podium (height, hill) and fagus (beech), leads to interpreting the toponym of Puy du Fou as the "hill of the beech" or the "summit of the beech trees."
Second most popular?[edit]
The park receives more than 2 million visitors every year, making it the second most popular theme park in France after Disneyland Paris.[1][2]'

Controversies over Historical Accuracy and Accusations of Propaganda[edit]
The English-language version of this article would benefit from a section paralleling that which already exists in the French article. The Puy du Fou park was created by Philippe de Villiers, a far-right politician interested in nationalist and identity politics. Since the park's inception, many historians have criticized the portrayals in the scenes as highly inaccurate and propagandistic in intent.
"The scenarios each have have a common goal ... the same message is presented for each period ... The stranger/foreigner is always the enemy, the Frenchman is always a good guy, and the solution is always God."[1]
