Inspiration[edit]

Some people there like to say that the Purdy R-2 School District inspired the movie Footloose, though it's most likely not true. Any way that might be added? 4.245.2.237 02:44, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Purdy school was not the inspiration for the move "Footloose". This was a common misconception that was used to sensationlize the issue. In the movie "Footloose", there was no dancing allowed in the town. At Purdy, there is only no "school-sponsored" dances..or in simple terms..no dancing in the school.
