I'll check that discussion, but is it just me or is this article near-identical with Puget Sound? Also, given that the capital-R name designation does exist, wouldn't Puget Sound Region be a more appropraite title?Skookum1 (talk) 14:26, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Port capacity[edit]

The line about the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma being the largest after Long Beach needs reconciling, and comparison, with information on Port of Vancouver and Port Metro Vancouver.....Skookum1 (talk) 17:45, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was skeptical too, once you pointed it out. But looking into it, it seems to be true. The PDF reference I added, here, does not say so explicitly, but a quick glance makes it clear. Measured in terms of metric tons of containerized cargo, Seattle + Tacoma appears to come in second for the continent, after Los Angeles + Long Beach. Vancouver is about tied with Seattle in this regard. Measured in terms of total containers, it looks like New York/New Jersey comes in second and Seattle/Tacoma third (4,792,922 vs. 4,154,376, if I have my math right). Perhaps I should add that factoid to the page (only just realized it writing this now). Pfly (talk) 04:55, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oop, third largest on both counts. Edited page to say so. Pfly (talk) 04:59, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Physical geography section[edit]

I tagged this section as off-topic. Most of the material here is about Puget Sound and it belongs there. In fact, a main article link to Puget Sound is probably appropriate. D O N D E groovily Talk to me 12:34, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
