Rename or "fork" pages and removal of link[edit]

  • The link Dikti doesn't make sense because it points to an article of the mountain range where the cave is associated. Maybe it would make sense if there was an article to the mythological Dhiktean cave.
  • Since Psychro is a village, I think that the page with the name "Psychro" should be about the the village, not only about the cave. I suggest the creation of a page named "Dhiktean cave", "Diktaean Cave" or "Dictean cave" with the contents of the actual "Psychro" page and fill this page with info on the village, including a link to the new cave page.

Isn't the usual English form Dictaean cave?--Wetman (talk) 04:19, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well... English isn't my native language, so I don't know. I think I have seen it written more often Dhiktean or Diktean, but anyway, I don't think that isn't a real issue, as we can make several redirects to the article proper. --Stegop (talk) 05:18, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the Dikti link does not make sense since it points to the mountain and not the cave. The English spelling for the cave is Diktaean Cave (the link Wetman added above takes to the right article which is improperly called Psychro Cave and not to Diktaean Cave as it should be).

PsychroPsychro Cave — Psychro is a village near the cave, so a page with this name alone should be about the village. I think that the cave is better known as Dhiktean, Diktaean or Dictean cave, but I admit that that title could have been confused with the mythological Dictean cave.] --Stegop (talk) 20:05, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article isn't very long. I don't see why information on the town and information on the cave can't go together at the plain title, which would mean maintaining the status quo is okay. Dekimasuよ! 08:56, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, the article is quite short and maybe it doesn't make much sense discussing it, but I am not suggesting the creation of 2 distinct articles, just rename the current article and put in "Psychro" a redirect. I wouldn't be making the suggestion if the text had anything about the village - in this case, the text about the cave could be a section. --Stegop (talk) 22:02, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong name![edit]

The name of the archeological site is Dictaeon Andron (Δικταιον Αντρον) or Dikti! Psychro is a village located near the cave! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.178.12.138 (talk) 00:29, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I completely agree with whoever wrote the above comment. I have been on the site recently and Psychro is simply the name of the village located below the Diktaian Cave which is actually called Δικταíον Ἄντρον. Please notice the accent on the i which not a tilde. I spoke to a Greek friend from Peloponnese and he explained to me the difference. í is the correct and modern standard known as Dimotiki (δημοτική ) while ῖ is from Katharevousa (καθαρεύουσα), is no longer in use since 1976. The name of this article needs to be changed to Diktaean Cave!
