Missing a connection between "dispute" and "pointing"[edit]

French historian Céline Martin has disputed the reality of "protofeudalism" by pointing to the public nature of oaths of fidelity in the late Visigothic kingdom.

So, what is the point being made here? patsw (talk) 01:17, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clarified? Srnec (talk) 03:33, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Thanks. patsw (talk) 20:09, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scare quotes[edit]

Why does the intro have all those scare quotes? The usage of term "feudalism" seems consistent with its ordinary usage. patsw (talk) 01:22, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Europeanise" is probably scare-quoted b/c it is taken directly from some (several?) source(s) (perhaps Spanish europeanización). I don't know why feudalism was scare-quoted (probably I was thinking of the term "feudalism"), so I removed them. Srnec (talk) 03:33, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
