reaction of opus dei[edit]

https://opusdei.org/en/article/praedicate-evangelium-opus-dei/?msclkid=a9b9388fa78f11ecb81dd81180da91a3 most important part: "Among the many changes, it provides for personal prelatures to be placed under the Congregation for the Clergy."

as long as they are the only ones to mention this, I don't think it needs to be in the article. --2A02:1810:BC04:4B00:50F3:D47B:F97F:C82A (talk) 15:09, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's a worthwhile detail, but we need a source that tells us what the change is. This tells us where personal prelatures are going to report without mentioning where they reported before PE. Rutsq (talk) 09:54, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit]

Is it possible to create a French page of this topics? I’m French and able to translate the text. Moirantin 39 (talk) 21:17, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Moirantin 39: il vaut mieux attendre avant de traduire, l'article (écrit à 93% par moi au moment où j'écris ces lignes) est probablement largement améliorable et contient possiblement des erreurs.
Transaltion: it is better to wait before translating, the article (currently 93% written by me) can probably be greatly improved and may contain errors. Veverve (talk) 21:52, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I understand. Please tell me when you think It’s suitable to do so. Moirantin 39 (talk) 22:14, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Press Conference on Monday 21 Mar 2022[edit]

Howdy, there should be more clarity on some issues and a LOT more stories to work with after the Vatican press conference scheduled for Monday 21 March 2022. Please note that PE is NOT yet in effect - that happens on 5 June 2022 (Pentecost). Dcheney (talk) 23:52, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dcheney: noted. Please do not hesitate to land a hand in the construction of the article.
Also, there is a snowball's chance in hell that PE would not eter into effect, and rewritting the article's verb tenses is not something I am willing to do; therefore, I have written the article as if the constitution was already in effect. Veverve (talk) 00:33, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I agree, the minor change to the intro is plenty - it is likely to be in effect for many years. There will be lots of other changes to make as well - to all the congregations, etc. Hopefully there will be an official English translation before it goes into effect! Dicasteries vs the rest[edit]

I've made some changes because as written this article privileges dicasteries as if they constituted the curia and relegated other departments, including the secrectariat of state! and the critical economic bodies that have received so much focus under Francis, to incidental mentions at the end. Note that the Secretariat of State is listed first in PE and its coordinating role distinguishes it from all other departments. Rutsq (talk) 16:10, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Better Link Available[edit]

There is now a better "proper" link to the document - still only in Italian. The document has been posted to the Apostolic Constitution section of the Vatican website. The new URL is: https://www.vatican.va/content/francesco/it/apost_constitutions/documents/20220319-costituzione-ap-praedicate-evangelium.html Dcheney (talk) 19:56, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Dcheney: link added. Thanks! Veverve (talk) 20:41, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This article points out a number of updates from the previous (first) edition. Dcheney (talk) 00:43, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dcheney: Thanks a lot! The original article is here on CNA.
I have added some of the information found in this article. I have not mentioned in the article the individual differences between the typical and the 19 March edition, as I feel it would take too much space. I have kept the note concerning the "extraordinary form" expression; it seem to me this "extraordinary form" expression is the only change that had enough media coverage to justify mentioning it in the article.
