Two questions: First, where was he in 1805 and into 1806? Second, I can find several journalistic references to Fredericksteen being taken into the Royal Navy, but I can't find confirmation in Colledge and I don't have my copy of Winfield with me. Do you have any info on the existence of HMS Fredericksteen? Regards, Acad Ronin (talk) 21:15, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have no immediate answer to what Skibsted was doing in 1805. Topsøe is silent on that matter, so presumably nothing of note. I will try digging.
This is what I have on the Fredrichsteen (with slight variations in spelling, but the same ship)

Frigates: . . . FRIDERICHSSTEEN (1800) 36 Guns

  • From the datasheet of the Danish Naval Museum, includes the phrase "fr.røvet 1807" meaning taken or stolen rather than simply captured.

That helped. I found it in Cooledge under the ...stein spelling. Regards, Acad Ronin (talk) 06:52, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
