A Shrew and The Shrew[edit]

The relationship between the two plays is uncertain; Oliver's view is only one side of a long argument. Given that some scholars question or reject the entire concept of "reported texts," an assertion that A Shrew is "almost certainly" one is unsound. (A discussion of the two plays would logically belong elsewhere than in this article.) Ugajin (talk) 18:12, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. But, I've just completely rewritten The Taming of the Shrew page, and have a lengthy section on A Shrew with theories as to its status dating back to 1850. And apart from anything else, virtually every single critic on the planet acknowledges that The Shrew preceeded A Shrew, so the wording needs to be changed (which I've done) because as it stands this page states as a fact that A Shrew came first. I linked the name to the relevant section on The Shrew page as well. Bertaut (talk) 01:35, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
