Treatment of citation[edit]

I came across the following fragmented quote in the article: '‘the sixty six year golden era of WE Bold and than Mc I Green” the Town Clerks In editing this, as seemed necessary, I took the abnormal liberty of dispensing with the quotation marks in order to justify fixing the typographic errors to make it read "the sixty-six-year golden era of [town clerks] W. E. Bold and W. A. McInnes Green which ended in 1965." Part of my reason for doing this was that William Ernest Bold (1873-1953) and William Allan McInnes Green (1896-1972) are the subjects of biographical articles here and here, and both obviously notable candidates for inclusion in Wikipedia. Naming them properly is a first step to creating those new articles. Cheers, Bjenks (talk) 08:08, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Both W. E. Bold and Allan Green (after whom the Conservatory is named) merit articles. They both received ample secondary coverage in newspapers of the day. Orderinchaos 04:10, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

– There appears to be no clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the name "Paul Ritter".  Spy-cicle💥  Talk? 01:38, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Update: Based on the evidence layed out my User:Black Kite I now think the primary topic should be the actor but I cannot change the RM move now since people have agreed with my first assessment (ping users who originally had !votes in line with "per nom" @Roman Spinner, In ictu oculi, Necrothesp, and Ortizesp:) Regards  Spy-cicle💥  Talk? 21:15, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination. The architect is not the primary topic. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 03:22, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support first, oppose second. Paul Ritter (actor) is an absolutely overwhelming WP:primary topic, getting 99% of all pageviews last year, even before his recent unfortunate death raised the views above 600,000 the other day. Move the actor to Paul Ritter. - Station1 (talk) 05:33, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support no primary topic and if there was one it would be the actor. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:00, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I tend to agree that the actor is the primary topic; regardless, the architect isn't. Mackensen (talk) 21:45, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Addendum: I'm convinced by Black Kite's analysis below that the actor is the primary topic, so I would support moving that page to the base title. There's only fifteen inbound links here from the article namespace so those should be easy to fix. Mackensen (talk) 18:16, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Neutral about the 2nd move (on whether there's no primary or whether the actor is primary), but the dab page would be good as primary topic swaps are often messy. Nonetheless, the architect certainly isn't the primary topic. Paintspot Infez (talk) 00:41, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination. No long term PT In ictu oculi (talk) 08:30, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support first and Move Paul Ritter (actor) to the base page. I assumed that the spike in viewing figures was related to his death, but even if you go back five years, the actor has many times the page views of all the other Paul Ritter pages put together.
    • Daily average pageviews - last 5 years
    • Even if you go back to, say, 2016-2018, before Ritter was in the series that brought him extra fame, his article still outstrips the others by around 14-to-1. He is clearly the primary target. Black Kite (talk) 11:26, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. The actor is every bit as primary. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:33, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Agree that the actor should be the primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:17, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 01:30, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
