Dating[edit]

If it was dedicated to the couple who were betrothed in 12/1612, the article should explain how a publication date of "around 1611" is justified by the sources. Davidships (talk) 08:40, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Quite so. Changed it... Nick Michael (talk) 11:36, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Italics[edit]

According to Wikipedia:Manual of_Style/Titles#Neither, "Names (not to be confused with titles) of some works of art," should use neither italics or quotation marks. Of the items listed at {{Renaissance music manuscript sources}} only one of the article titles is italicized within the article (Elizabeth Rogers' Virginal Book) and some are italicized within the article and use {{Italic title}} (Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, My Ladye Nevells Booke, Parthenia (music), Parthenia Inviolata). Is the title of this article a title of a work of art, or is it a name of a work of art (and should not be italicized within the article nor use {{Italic title}})? An interesting question. The reference is to a work of visual art, given a conventional name which is not a title. I think all of the musical examples you name are actual titles. Parthenia and Parthenia inviolata are certainly both published titles, but perhaps closer examination of the other cases is indicated. Thanks for bringing this up.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 03:19, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
