Merge with Endless knot[edit]
I guess they are not same at all. One of them is symbol other decorative knot. It is looks more like Carrick mat than panchang. Wwbread Zaripov999 (talk) 12:53, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Zaripov999, thank you for joining the discussion. 盤長結/Pan Chang Jie is how endless knot called in Chinese traditionally. It is a symbol and also a decoration widely used. e.g. China Unicom has the symbol as its logo. -- WWbread (Open Your Mouth?) 13:06, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Provide evidence about them uniformity. Translation is not proof.

- Also it says "the pan chang knot .... Its endless pattern represents ...". Maybe "Endless knot" it not knot it is pattern. panchang knot maded by pattern, but it is not pattern.
- 2. Panchang knot contains start point and end point, endless - not
- 3. "Fun with Chinese Knotting: Making Your Own Fashion Accessories & Accents by Lydia Chen p.145 (92)" shows endless knot as ring and calls it "simple pan chang knot". "Endless knot" = "Simple pan chang knot" != "Pan chang knot"?Wwbread Zaripov999 (talk) 18:20, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- 1. If translation is not a proof, then there should be two separate pages showing Avtomat Kalashnikova and Kalashnikov Automatic Rifles. If you stop a random buddhist in China and show the Endless knot picture, then he will reply you it is a Pan Chang Jie in Chinese.
- 2/3/4 The Pan Chang knot pattern is a extract of the knot itself. But I am not a knot expert as you, so I am not sure I understand the cord ends / endless sentence well. Could you please explain it further?
- 5. Quoting your book, on page 152, it shows you Pan Chang knots in their different grades. Sub-Knot No.2 of top knot, No.1,2,3 of the middle knot, and number 4 of the bottom knot are all Pan Chang knots/endless knot in different grades. The cores of those knots are the same pattern. - Translate will be proof if defined like sourse or obviously - WP:SOURCEDEF. Show endlees knot in book or artickle where endless knot calls 盤長結 or panchang knot with showed endles knot image.
- There are about 6 panchang knots not all of them panchang knot with different grades

- Celtic knot similar to panchang pattern and Basket weave knot. All of these endless knot too? I guess not. We dont' have a clear definition to separate all these different concepts but we can't join them cus they are similar WWbread Zaripov999 (talk) 05:51, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
