Notability and conflict of interest[edit]

The description of the Barbarigo Minotto Palace is taken from several art history books, documenting its unique decorations and paintings (some of which made by world renown artists such as Tiepolo). The article was not meant to advertise anything but the splendour of this Palace, one amongst the many hidden jewels of Venice. Any information I have posted in the article can be found through a careful research on any Italian Architecture manual. Please help me to improve this article and free it from any suspicion. I believe the author is being somewhat disingenuous when he claims that no promotion was intended. The original article, when tagged, contained a link to the website of a new musical group (oddly enough named Musica Palazzo) that is performing in this space. The language of the article is clearly favorable about this venue, intended to entice a reader to visit said performance venue. WikiDan61^ChatMe!_ReadMe!! 16:51, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I declined the PROD. The building is notable and deserves an article, regardless of the clear conflict of interest which originally spawned it and to be fair, the article has never contained a link to the website of Musica a Palazzo. I've now cleaned it up, removed the hype and referenced it. Note that I have done the same with Musica a Palazzo, although the notability there is more marginal. To Musicapalazzo and/or Cosimomiorelli, who created Musica a Palazzo, if you have any connection whatsoever (either personal or professional) with this group you need to read WP:Conflict of interest for guidance, and frankly, I'd strongly suggest that you refrain from editing either of these articles. I have just reverted the edits by User:Fontebasso, who completely over-wrote the existing article, removing all previous content, all valid references, all formatting. Please note that links to other Wikipedia are not valid references. If you edit the article again, start your material in a new section of the article and do not use Wikipedia as a reference. Yes, I see that. However, it is not written in idomatic English and needs a lot of cleanup, nor did you credit this to the Italian Wikipedia which is required by Wikipedia's license. I will do that now. And my point still stands, when making additions to an article do not overwrite what is already there, and particularly do not remove references and formatting.
