Cambridge statue[edit]

This article at the (London) Times suggests that an Atchugarry statue of Prince Philip of the UK is being removed from a location in central Cambridge because local officials consider it the "worst artwork ever seen". https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/prince-philip-statue-duke-edinburgh-cambridge-university-d0stpzr5l Atchugarry has given the impression of denying being the artist in question, although his form of words appear to avoid an an outright denial. Meanwhile, the company which installed it insists it paid him and he created it. A local arts group has suggested that Atchugarry may have created it but it may then have been altered by additions. This is an interesting episode which should be included in the article. I am putting this comment here first to see if any other editors have a view. I have taken a few details from the BBC report, which includes a link to the document containing the official's comment. But it does seem a murky affair PeterNimmo (talk) 21:05, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
