Birth date[edit]

Zadkine was born on 4 July 1890 in the city of Vitsebsk, part of the Russian Empire (now Belarus). Source: Musée Zadkine, Paris. Coldcreation (talk) 05:58, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It is assumed that the date of birth listed at the Musée Zadkine website is correct. After all, they have the entire Zadkine archive and are the sole beneficiaries of the Zadkine Estate. The date of 14 July is listed almost everywhere else on the Internet. But that may be incorrect. I will see if his birth certificate can be found online. The date of 4 July 1890 is also listed at Archives nationales; site de Fontainebleau, N° de notice c-325501. Coldcreation (talk) 06:21, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also the Zadkine Research Center (fr.zadkine.com) claims that Ossip Zadkine was born on July 14. --Rosarino (talk) 17:43, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a Julian or Gregorian Calendar problem?Pustelnik (talk) 16:32, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
