Okuta, KwaraOkuta, Kwara State – name of state is Kwara State not Kwara. Josedimaria237 (talk) 19:25, 11 December 2021 (UTC) — Relisting. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 21:04, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Crouch, Swale In Nigeria, short forms are not used for states.

Are they not, "Kwara" alone seems to be unambiguous. Crouch, Swale (talk) 07:01, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Crouch, Swale: That's because you are not a Nigerian. Honestly, most Nigerian states look ambiguous without the 'state' added because majority of these states were named after right or cities.
In official documents, newspapers or at the media, that's how they are referred to.
I am not really surprised that some editors like you do oppose these moves due to most commentators on these RMs I nominated being non-Nigerians with a neutral point of view.
