'...timetable was changed so the majority of trains stoppped...'[edit]

As far as I am aware, the vast majority of trains stopped at Oaklands before the platform redevelopment. However, I cannot find an easily-accessible reliable source for this. 122.49.175.100 (talk) 08:06, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I seem to remember express trains going south through Oaklands in the 1980s, only because as a motorist held up by the boom gates you didn't have to wait while the train stopped, disgorged its passengers and moved on. Maybe only a few minutes but so frustrating! The tramways are far more considerate: they have the up-track stop on one side of the crossing and down-track on the other, so no-one is held up by a stationary tram.
