Death of Policeman J. C. Cox[edit]

The killing of Policeman J. C. Cox in Brinkley, Arkansas, mentioned in the entry I just added for November 8, does not appear on the Officer Down Memorial Page. The cited source, the 1903 Arlington (Texas) Journal, states that Cox was killed "in an alteration [sic]". Perhaps Cox got into a fight of his own volition and is not considered to have died in the line of duty? On the other hand, ODMP inevitably still has omissions, and also the 1903 Arlington Journal is not certain to be a reliable source (its editorial columns are blatantly racist). The death of Town Marshal Winfield Kimbrough of Wilton, Arkansas (entry for November 22) is also not listed on ODMP. The Arlington Journal describes his death as the result of "a fatal shooting affray". See my previous comment. Gildir (talk) 12:27, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
