Potential copyvio[edit]

The article look like it has been pieced together from copyrighted sources, https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=Nieca_Goldberg Vexations (talk) 02:25, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See comment below, in the proposed removal section. David notMD (talk) 08:14, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

media coverage[edit]

I propose that we remove the Media coverage section as largely irrelevant. Media coverage is expected for any notable subject and should be used as a source for an article, not as a topic in itself. Goldberg (hopefully) isn't known for appearing in the media but appears in the media because she is known for some notable professional accomplishment. Vexations (talk) 14:44, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted a lot of the fluff (stuff where Goldberg provided a quote for an article), but agree that more could go, up to the entire section. David notMD (talk) 11:50, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Some Reasons for Proposed Removal[edit]

I believe that this article about a practicing physician may be conflict of interest. The Tea House disagrees but in this particular situation I maintain my stance. There are other reasons for removal: I will settle to say that this physician's achievements are no greater than many academic Cardiologists in New York City. She is not a notable physician. I will also point out that another editor has objected to the neutrality of the page. The page has been flagged for multiple problems and no attempt has been made to fix them. Nicodemus (talk) 16:51, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The creator of the article denies knowing or working for Nieca Goldberg. Hence, no apparent COI. There is no "Tea House" opinion, only comments by various editors and administrators. If any editor believes this is not a Wikipedia-worthy article, the correct venue is to nominate it for deletion WP:AFDHOW. After discussion and recommendations by any editor who wants to, an administrator will decide KEEP or DELETE. David notMD (talk) 03:34, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It is unlikely that Ildar2013 does not know or does not work for Golberg or that there is no CoI. Is there a plausible explanation for uploading and getting the subject to agree to license https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dr_Nieca_Goldberg.jpg for reuse ? Vexations (talk) 09:06, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Vexation's point about the article failing a copyright evaluation is important. Ildar2013 has been notified on Talk to remedy this ASAP. David notMD (talk) 11:01, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Note that Ildar2013 clarified that: I have no connection to Dr. Goldberg in any way, except for asking her to provide a photo for a possible Wikipedia article. Vexations (talk) 15:31, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at copyright vio and most of the overlaps appear to be names of institutions Dr. Goldberg either trained at or works at, plus names of awards and recognitions. IMO, not extended sections of text. David notMD (talk) 08:13, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

August 1st: Articles for Deletion decision was Keep. David notMD (talk) 17:15, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
