Greek meaning[edit]

The "literal" meaning provided here is fanciful. See Talk:Philadelphia#Etymology_of_Philadelphia. It might serve well as a rhetorical flourish or a pun, but it is not a literal translation of a different Greek word, but, instead, homage to an important city in the New Testament.
