Lampert Lumber Company Line Yard[edit]

There is a strong likelihood this building has been demolished or lost. I find no building in aerial or street view imagery that matches the photos of it in its SHPO file. It is an unlikely structure to have been moved for preservation elsewhere. -McGhiever (talk) 02:54, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lampert Lumber is still in business. On their website, they say they were "founded in 1887 by two brothers, Jacob and Leonard Lampert, with the purchase of a yard in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota." The co-ordinates for this listing point to the small unincorporated community of Essig, very close to Sleepy Eye. Someone at Lamperts may be able to say where this yard was and what became of it. Essig has a bar: Carl's Corner. I called them. According to the bartender, the old lumber yard was right in Essig, but it was torn down about 20 years ago. It's an empty lot now. (Not an official source, of course, but I don't see any reason not to believe it.) Jonathunder (talk) 03:46, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
