Military Career?[edit]

She's also a Senior Captain in the Ukrainian Navy, and spokesperson for the Southern Military District of Ukraine, but this is not mentioned at all in her bio. Obviously if she is a Senior Captain, she's been in for a while. In the US Navy, it takes about 25 years minimum to reach this rank. I would think this merits at least a paragraph about this part of her life.

And yes, it's possible that she was just given a direct commission when the war started, but I would think that would be pretty rare. Usually if you are given a direct commission, you start out as a Lieutenant or Lieutenant Commander, not a Senior Captain, as far as I know. Regardless, I hope someone with more info can fill us in. You are thinking of a different woman, Natalia Humeniuk (Гуменюк Наталя Костянтинівна in the Ukrainian Wikipedia), who is a Captain 1st rank in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and spokesperson for the Southern Military District. Nurg (talk) 11:38, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
