Namur station (Montreal Metro)Namur station – DAB not required as recommended name per WP:CANSTATION will not conflict with the mainline railway station in Belgium. Useddenim (talk) 15:08, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 16:47, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • This contradicts the naming convention at WP:CANSTATION. I don't see any benefit to making these titles less specific. 162 etc. (talk) 16:25, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Incorrect; WP:CANSTATION specifically states that it "eliminates ... the use of "railway station" in titles", eliminating any confusion with Namur railway station in Belgium. However, per WP:PRECISION, the "(Montreal Metro)" disambiguation is unnecessary. Useddenim (talk) 23:50, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • PRECISION means that some form of additional disambiguation is necessary, as all stations are stations. It would be imprecise if there wasn't any more, as the one in Belgium is also a station. Namur metro would be the form to use if you wanted to have a more WP:CONCISE name. "station" is not the way to go without violating PRECISION -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 04:50, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • COMMENT see related move request at Talk: Namur railway station (Belgium) -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 22:03, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Still a railway. And in any case, both could be referred to as Namur station. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:01, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Necro. Precision needs to be evaluated from the perspective of what a typical reader might search for. It's not sufficient that this is the only article that could live at this title according to the minutiae of our subject-specific naming guidelines. Colin M (talk) 17:11, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
