Questionable Category[edit]

An unregistered user (at 125.164.35.71) added the category "Fictional orcas" to this article today. I removed this as it seemed inappropriate - although I may have been too hasty??? The movie Namu... is a story about a marine biologist, some fishermen and townsfolk and their encounter with a fictional orca "Namu" who was played by the real-life orca, "Namu." I see the same user has today added this "Fictional orcas" category to other movie (fictional) articles about orcas: Free Willy; Orca (film); TV anime (Tico of the Seven Seas); and other tenuously-related articles (e.g. Torca, a (Transformers) General who turns into a monster that is a combination of elephant and orca; Kyogre, a Pokémon character vaguely related to an orca; and Orca (comics) a DC Comics hybrid human/orca-like villain). I think the category itself is unnecessary - or, at best, the title is a bit mis-guided. A category title like "orcas in fiction" might have been a better / more useful choice. I apologize if my deletion was too hasty or insufficiently justified but I will leave it to other editors to restore (or not) the categorization. Pugetbill (talk) 17:41, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
