Fatah al Islam is not resistance[edit]

I am disturbed by the editor who has reverted and inserted the fact that Fatah al-Islam is a resistance movement, rather then a terrorist group. Fatah al Islam murdered around 300 Lebanese civilians. They are listed by the US state department as an official terrorist organization. They are insprised by Al Qaida. There should be no question that they are a terrorist organization and the word should be "terrorist pockets- not resistance pockets."

"families originally from Algeria, Tunisia or Morocco who had moved to Palestine in the 1930s now live". This sounds like Zionist hasbara. The Palestinians there would have arrived in Palestine many centuries before that. In fact the "Maghrebi" Palestinians have been in Palestine since the Crusades. They were brought in by Saladin [user amersaabi1] 02/05/2017

Disambiguation[edit]

Hi all - This is a very important article, but I think its title should be moved to clarify that it is referring to the Palestine refugee camp, as opposed to the actual river that the camp is named after. I started creating the article for the river, but through the process I hit a few issues.

1) I started by translating the Arabic language article, but the only source that's cited in the article is from an open access journal (Journal of Coastal Zone Management) that is blocked by Wikipedia. The paper seems quite legitimate, and the authors are from the Lebanese University, which is quite underfunded, so I am not surprised that the only outlet that they could find for their publication is through this journal. Trying to find other publications to cite is like searching for a needle in a haystack, because all funding goes to researching the "refugee problem", and so little funding goes to basic environmental research. The situation is so dismal in Lebanon, that even Lebanese Ministry of Environment website, which I was hoping would have some content to cite, is down.

2) I'm not sure what the title of the river's page should be. Nahr Al-Bared, or Al-Bared River? The list of rivers of Lebanon page has river articles that are titled either as X River or Nahr X (Nahr=River in Arabic). The river naming convention section of the Wikiproject Rivers does not cover this case.

Finally, regardless of the solution, I think we need a disambiguation page for the three articles: The Palestine refugee camp, the Syrian village, and the river itself.

I agree that the river could have its own article, and this one could be moved to for example Nahr al-Bared refugee camp. As for the Lebanese website that is down, you could try to search the Wayback Machine for archives. FunkMonk (talk) 19:00, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The new article name makes sense. I don't have the appropriate permissions to move it though.

The problem with the Wayback archive of the MOE website is that the search function on the website itself requires server side queries, so it didn't work at all. Also, I just found out that there's another river in Syria also named Nahr al-Bared, but the article is in Swedish.
