NCAA Final Four first held in 1997[edit]

I think 1997 was the year the NCAA Philippines Final Four was held, not 1998. It was in the same year they used the step-ladder format for the first time. SSC-R swept the elims. round and as an inceptive for sweeping the elims, they went outright in the Finals and just needed one win to secure the title, w/c they did.

I just watched the game bet. Letran and Mapua playoffs on youtube. Even the commentators say it was the Final 4.
