General[edit]

I've added an "underconstruction" tag to the article to delay its nomination for speedy deletion but am struggling to find any coverage of this bank in reliable independent sources. The best I can find are the bank's own websites, some SEC mentions and passing references in articles about individuals who have accounts.

These aren't sufficient to meet the notability requirements for corporations. Can anyone point to any additional and reliable sources to justify keeping this article? Euryalus (talk) 03:25, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've gotten a good base start for the article. As a matter of conflict of interest, I will refrain from contributing further because I have immediate relation to an employee. However, this article should remain intact. MNB is a publicly traded company and is present in 3 counties in East Tennessee. Needs references, however, SEC filings and 10-Qs can show assets, liabilities, net income, structure, etc. Most information is accesible from the company website, local and state newspapers, and government filings related to publicly traded companies. Looking good, given it was only created about an hour ago. There's a number of Knoxville News articles that mention it but I can't access them from this public computer so I'll have a read when I get home. The need for a lead[edit]

I've removed the "Overview" header that was placed above the text, because it incorproated the entire article below the table of contents and removed the concept of a "lead paragraph". The style guidelines for articles require a lead section which is a sumamry of the main points - a kind of quick reference for readers who don't want the in-depth coverage of an entire piece. Where an article is very short (like this one), the in-depth treatment might not be provided but the "lead paragraph" should always be present.
