Kalman flaps[edit]

Short answer is I don't know. It is the description Gunston uses but, so far, his is the only such ref to them I've seen anywhere. Kalman was a well known aerodynamicist, mostly in the dynamic response area I think. Possibly the Russians adopted his name for a type known otherwise in the West, but that's just a wild guess.TSRL (talk) 10:21, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It could on the other hand be a typo, Kalman for Karman: there are Karman flaps though no WikiP article.TSRL (talk) 10:37, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
