Location granularity[edit]

Hello. I am neither a local nor a German locations expert so you might be able to shut me up quite quickly, but do we really need all this in the first sentence?

  • Monschau is a small resort town in the Eifel region of western Germany, located in the Aachen district of North Rhine-Westphalia.

That seems to me to be five descriptive terms for where it is. Bad Münder am Deister gets away with a mere three:

  • Bad Münder is a town in the Hamelin-Pyrmont district, Lower Saxony, Germany.

... which seems to me to be more reasonable. It says where it is but doesn't have to stop for breath and retake before a second instalment. The current Monschau description kind of reminds me of going Tenbury Crescent, Preston Grange, North Shields, Tynemouth, Tyne & Wear, England, UK, Europe, Earth etc or whatever. But maybe the way it is now is in necessary compliance with the MOS for German places, or something? I probably ought to go and read up on this but, if you know the answer and get there first, please do enlighten me. I'm certainly not planning to edit it without some proper basis for doing so; its many descriptors are thus safe from me for the time being and possibly for ever!
