El cheapo[edit]

Mogliano Veneto is somewhat famous as an oratorial scapegoat of modern day venetian politics. When a venetian official complains about the intolerable costs of living in the historic city centre and the resulting exodus of permanent residents, he or she will often refer to Moglian, because that is the place where costs are exactly 1/3rd of those seen in the nearby water-borne city (things like shopping, home rent, transport).

Another issue Moglian got famous for is a paint factory, which local greens accused of discharging waste into waterflows, thus poisoning the venetian lagoon even more than the glass-makers of Murano. 82.131.210.163 (talk) 19:21, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
