Mobil Travel Guide

It would be useful to add information here on the "Mobil Travel Guide" publications, which used to be companions of the American traveller and included restaurant ratings. User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:17, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure they're really significant, but then that's because I never found Mobil guides to be helpful; I've always preferred AAA, Frommer's, Rough Guides, and Let's Go. --Coolcaesar 05:22, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

This page is a blatant advertisement for Mobil 1. There are no numbers quoted for gas economy...— Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.118.14.39 (talkcontribsWHOIS) July 24, 2006

I surely would like to see something on the history of the Mobilgas Economy Run. I don't know when it was started, but it ended in the early 60s, I believe. All the manufacturers that wished to could enter their cars, with their own factory drivers. The cars were checked to assure nominal production values and were run from coast to coast, maintaining an average of 50 mph, I believe. It was a real world test.....and the 6 cylinders with manual transmissions and overdrive always seemed to win by a large margin.

Any reference help, here? Thanks207.178.98.116 01:44, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
