Neutrality[edit]

What not neutral about this? Its taken from the Pali Canons or the Buddhist scriptures --138.88.28.96 05:30, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's not neutral because non-Buddhists, and some modernist Buddhists, deny it. Therefore, under Wikipedia definitions, it is an opinion, not a fact, and should be stated as such. See WP:NPOV for details. Peter jackson (talk) 11:32, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... Buddha walked on water, eh? WHERE could I have heard THAT before?

Oh wait, didn't Jesus supposedly do that?

I'm very concerned about the statement here that Buddha himself walked on water because the source cited is not reliable. No account of this incident is discussed in that book. Rather, the book shows a picture of a stone carving, and the author asserts that it depicts Buddha walking on water, but anyone who takes an actual look at the picture will see that it does not clearly portray any such thing. If you're going to include this miracle, you need to provide a more reliable source, preferably the original source of the story in the Buddhist texts themselves. I personally have never been able to find such a source in these texts (in fact, I have never found ANY other source stating this story except the book cited here), so if anyone knows of one, please let me know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alg0207 (talk • contribs) 05:45, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
