Isn't this considered a prequel?

Shouldn't this be considered a prequel since it happens before the events of the first and second film? Npabebangin (talk) 21:33, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

I think so. Koala15 (talk) 00:33, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

Did Owl City create a song?

Did Owl City create a song to this Movie - "Lighting Up The Tunnel"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.164.37.7 (talk) 03:11, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

I only found reports and no confirmation. Callmemirela {Talk} 01:41, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

The maker

it says Universal Studios / Illumination Entertainment but in my contry its only made By Universal Studios so can someone remove the Illumination Entertainment from the article — Preceding unsigned comment added by A8v (talkcontribs) 10:02, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Denied. Per the official website here at the bottom, Illumination is a part of the film. Callmemirela {Talk} 01:40, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Language

Should we add Spanish to the "Language" Section since most of the minions dialogue consists of Spanish. 2601:600:8600:5C2:4D6E:B42E:A31F:468E (talk) 03:06, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Needs source. Callmemirela {Talk} 01:38, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Minionese (aka "Banana Language") is not Spanish, but rather gibberish which incorporates distorted words from various languages (such as Spanish, English, and Italian). There are a few reliable source articles discussing its development, but it certainly should not be included in the Language section. — al-Shimoni (talk) 23:29, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

MLP Coincidence???

The announcer of VillainCon introducing Scarlet Overkill said this:

  • Announcer: Ladies and gentlecolts, Scarlet Overkill!!!
  • (see above) Notice he said gentlecolts instead of gentlemen? Probably the same voice actor for the announcer Stallion from Sonic Rainboom.

Minion Bob

I was not certain if this was notable in any way after watching the film this early afternoon. Minion Bob has heterochromia iridum as one eye is green whilst the other is brown, which can seen here, here and here. Callmemirela {Talk} 01:37, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Sound track questions

Eruption solo

I don't know if this is a mistake or even how exactly WP contributors would rectify it if it were, but why is the Eruption solo by Van Halen neither on the soundtrack list nor listed anywhere else? It certainly is a licensed, copyrighted song, so I'm not sure why it was left off the thing. Is this normal for film soundtracks? I'm really out of my depth here, so if anyone knows more about it, I'd be grateful for some clarification Sapphiruby (talk) 08:30, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

I agree. And I would like to point out that also Peter and the Wolf, a composition written by Sergei Prokofiev, has been left out. Can someone please rectify/add to the soundtrack list? SOL 79.54.158.41 (talk) 14:30, 7 September 2015 (UTC)

Got to Get You Into My Life (Lennon-McCartney)

... is definitely in the movie. Not sure about "Revolution." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:440:8200:5288:A404:53A8:47B2:C2CE (talk) 02:08, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

Antarctica?

They encounter a polar bear.137.205.183.109 (talk) 13:55, 11 January 2016 (UTC) I agree that this is certainly not Antarctica. When they went into the cave, it was after they killed Napoleon by accident, presumably when he was fighting in Russia. I would assume this cave is in Northern Russia. Ingebot (talk) 10:33, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Yes - they escape a polar bear to then come very close to a brown bear. Definitely northern hemisphere. The joy of all things (talk) 16:18, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
Northern hemisphere, where Sydney is located? Folks, this is a cartoon movie, not a geography lesson or history lesson. --2.247.244.241 (talk) 19:24, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Explodes

Minor edit needed;

Currently says The missile detonates, causing it to explode. – virtually identical phrases, and I’m not sure if “it” is the missile or the gown. MBG02 (talk) 00:43, 27 September 2018 (UTC)

3 Pandas reference

Could it be a Minions knockoff version? If so, it's not a movie.....it's a flash game in FlashTeam. Because Slim the panda was like Kevin, Big the panda was like Stuart and Small the panda was like Bob. Minions is a movie while 3 Pandas is a [1] . For Fandom, search '[2]'

Considering protecting this page due to recent edits, trends, etc.

There's been a big upsurgence of memes that are generally the question of "What were the minions doing between 1933 and 1945?". I've been noticing that edits in leu of this meme have surfaced, and not only have surfaced, but have been reverted back to by some people cleaning up blatant section deletion. Perhaps this page should be protected from unwanted tampering for the near future, or at the very least, have the Plot section semi-protected if possible? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.24.231.105 (talk) 17:19, 5 June 2022 (UTC)

So far it's been only one instance, but if this editing trend continues on this article then page protection can be requested -Gouleg🛋️ harass/hound 13:16, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

It's much better to say what you mean

Let us all try a lot harder to avoid completely unclear, inept writing like this, which is the first sentence in the section Marketing and release:

"Bloomberg News estimated the media value was $593 million, which Comcast and its partners spent on that."

The media value of WHAT, EXACTLY?????

Then the word "that" later on in the sentence just compounds this failed attempt at communication. 2601:200:C000:1A0:9DE6:7029:1358:9717 (talk) 20:33, 15 July 2022 (UTC)

Rewritten. Don't forget you can always be bold and edit the section to clarify that those $593 million were spent by Universal on ads and promotions with other brands (or at least from what I understood per the source) -Gouleg🛋️ harass/hound 21:00, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
