MiddleholmMidland Isle – Per the Ordnance Survey while "Middleholm" and "Midland Island" are also common, this is the name on the OS. The previous RM at Talk:Skomer#Requested move 30 November 2018 focused on the 4 islands that were proposed to add "Island" to the name and this one wasn't discussed or opposed. • Oppose. This is just meddling; it has already been decided on Talk:Skomer#Requested move 30 November 2018. Tony Holkham (Talk) 15:43, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That consensus was over adding "Island" to the name, this is about using a different name which was not discussed and thus isn't a rehash. Although they were similar issues that were probably best discussed in one discussion, this different type of change wasn't discussed so nominating it separately is sensible, see also WP:TRAINWRECK. • Still oppose. The name Middleholm (of probable Viking origin) can be documented at least as far back as 1325, Edward III's reign (see) and the name Midland Isle does not chime with those of the other islands in the group. And an obvious (rhetorical) question is: how does changing the name to an alternative improve Wikipedia or facilitate someone's search for information on the island? It doesn't. Interesting that that source even mentions that the OS calls it Midland Isle but it should actually be Middleholm. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:59, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
