Website and previous wife(?), 'Vaitiare Bandera'[edit]

Hey I was just wondering whether [1] is the official site of Michael Shanks. I am speculating due to the fact that he talks about 'Michael' in the third person which leads me to the conclusion that it's a fan site, however possibly an official fan-run site. I was also wondering how far Michael progressed in his relationship with Vaitiare, ie, whether they were married or it was simply a serious relationship that never got to the point of marriage. If the former should it not be added to the list of spouses under for example, 'Vaitiare Bandera (x-y)', (unsure of the duration of the relationship, the facts could be uncovered if need be, however). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.15.144.208 (talk) 00:45, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is no evidence that they had a serious or long term relationship that I am aware of - only that they had a child.94.168.48.161 (talk) 23:16, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wives[edit]

I think it should be noted (at least as trivia) that both of Shank's wives (past and present) have appeared on Stargate SG1 as recurring characters. any thoughts?

If we can work it in as part of a paragraph, perhaps. However, the biography is about Shanks, so I would't add a triva section for this information. See also WP:AVTRIV Morphh 14:10, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Daniel outside Werner's house.jpg[edit]

Image:Daniel outside Werner's house.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:31, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other SG-1 Acting[edit]

Shanks also played Ma'Chello in the Stargate SG-1 episode "Holiday", in season 2. Should this be mentioned in the article? — Black Sabre (talk) 06:50, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Doomsday Arcade[edit]

Appears to be a different Michael Shanks - should be removed.

Mirror, mirror[edit]

Maybe a better question for the Stargate wiki, but I don't see an explanation for why Michael was temporarily written out of SG-1. What happened? TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 01:28, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article specifies that he felt his character was being under-utilized, so he left. He had a pretty devoted following, as evidenced by the Save Daniel Jackson movement among fans, but I don't know the whole story about his return. It's probably a better idea to flesh this out more in the Stargate SG-1 article, if it isn't addressed thoroughly there, rather than in Michael's article. I have to read more carefully. Thx. I do think, if it's findable, a touch more could be here; it is career-related. (Yeh, more appropriate for the SG page to go into the details, tho.) TREKphiler any time you're ready, Uhura 01:46, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Time Trap[edit]

Someone named Michael Shanks wrote and directed "Time Trap" (not listed on Time Trap (disambiguation)), which was the first segment of the first episode of the sci-fi TV show Dust (just added List of programs broadcast by TBD to Dust (disambiguation))... but was that Michael Shanks this Michael Shanks? IMDb does not say.
