MRA Large; its own platform?[edit]

@ybsone Hello, I saw you mentioned MRA Large as an “expectation,” did you mean exception? That would be true, since the S-Klasse and its Maybach version are the only ones to use it.

I suppose it can be argued for merging it into MRA 2nd gen (since Large and Midsize are on the same architecture), but isn’t MRA Large distinct enough from Midsize in the same way the Audi A8 has its own platform (another exception) on the MLB architecture known as MLB D? Again, MLB D is technically on the same architecture as MLB B/C (paralleling MRA midsize), but technically distinct, no? 129.210.115.225 (talk) 04:17, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Source was mentioning the MRA Large in the future, so it cannot be used as a reliable source. And apart for the FCA thesis there are only a handfull sources that mention "MRA Large" at all. YBSOne (talk) 09:03, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could this Chinese article and an archive of the Sindelfingen team quality services point to it?

They are not enough and may be circular ref.YBSOne (talk) 20:45, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also have a 2023 Marklines document that references it, but I am uncertain if citing it would itself constitute a copyright violation considering it is unavailable online. 129.210.115.225 (talk) 05:46, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here’s an excerpt:
The MHA platform designation is added to represent Mercedes-Benz's plan to develop a discrete platform to support the group's larger SUV/crossover programs. The platform shares major component systems with the MRA Large car architecture but maintains a separate build process, reflecting the need to integrate a taller bulkhead structure.
later on, it mention this:
Production of the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV [X294] and the larger EQS SUV [X296] shifted to the EVA2 platform from the previous MRA MID-SIZE and MHA platforms, respectively
If this isn’t indicative of MRA Large existing separately from MRA Midsize/Mid-size, then I’m not sure what is. 129.210.115.229 (talk) 22:48, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This has to have multiple reliable sources to be used. Maybe in the future it will become more common name or distinction of this platform. Currently it is not. YBSOne (talk) 06:11, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
