The source for the meaning of the name came from the Reader's Digest Illustrated Guide to Southern Africa 5th Edition ISBN 0947008179, 1985 --Jcw69 19:09, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've actually seen the ref on many other places; I doubt it is "authorative" or requires acknowledgement... dewet| 19:33, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There seems to be some dispute about Memel, see Talk:Memel (disambiguation) and Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts. Matthead wanted to know what my source was when I started this article. Yes I know it is not that authorative but it gave me a wonderful start on a number of smaller town articles. --Jcw69 19:51, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know, and I know ;) I just didn't realise why you posted it here, and now it all makes sense... I've posted my 2c on the WQ alerts page. dewet| 20:06, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
