I linked to stingless bee and changed Mayan Indians to ancient Maya civilization. I used “it” instead of repeating the bee’s name in the description section. I then changed the titles so that only the first word was capitalized to maintain consistency with the rest of Wikipedia. I italicized the species name. I made a minor grammar edit in the pre-discharge phase section. I added a link to the African honeybee, Ah-Muzen-Cab and beekeeping.

The last sentence of the Colony cycle section lacks a citation. I might get rid of the diet section since it doesn’t offer anything new that cannot be found in the foraging section. This diet section also lacks a citation. Otherwise I think it's a great article with interesting information. Peer Review

Good job with this article! There is a lot of information here and I can really see all the research put into this page. As for changes, I rearranged the first sentence of the overview to state earlier that it is a bee. I also added various links throughout the article, starting with the first mention of the Yucatán Peninsula. You accidentally called the bee a wasp, so I changed that wording, but make sure to watch out for that in the future. My biggest change was in the distribution and habitat section: I took out the section on abiotic factors of environment since it did not seem relevant and that information can be found from the Wikipedia page on tropical rainforests (which I linked), I then put conservation status as a subheading under distribution and habitat since it is directly related to the habitat. I enjoyed the rest of the page, awesome colony cycle and reproduction sections. If you are planning to add more information, I would focus on more defense and predation. This article was very interesting to read, especially with respect to the variety of behaviors that you included for Melipona beecheii. With respect to corrections, I capitalized "Hymenoptera" and "Melipona" in the first sentence of the first paragraph because they are the names of order and genus, respectively. I also added some hyperlinks to uncommon terminology such as for "thorax", "drones", and "ecological niche" so that readers can reference to these ideas if they would like more information. I added "phylogeny" to the heading of "Taxonomy" since this would make this section more complete; even though there is not much information currently under this subhead, "Taxonomy and Phylogeny" as a title would provide a more comprehensive summary of information that could be added to this section in the future. Concerning content, it might be interesting to discuss more on the life history of these bees or whether there is mimicry or camouflage that aids in the bees survival. Nice job, this was a really great read and contained good information on Melipona beecheii. There weren't many edits to make, I did add a few links, specifically to "Paenibacillus." I liked the flow of your article, and only made a few minor edits with commas and sentence flow. Overall it was very well written and I can see why it was featured in the "Did You Know?" section on October 20th. I think this article definitely meets the criteria for good article, especially with the accompanying illustrations throughout the article that give context to the information that is provided. Range

Melipona Becheii's range is wrong. The Mexican part of the Yucatan peninsula is part of North America, so this insect's range goes from north to central america. Soparamens (talk) 20:42, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
