according to the corresponding Japanese Wikipedia, the 1700 series is actually part of the 2200 series, which includes the 1700 series, 2200 series, and 2300 series (see http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%90%8D%E9%89%842200%E7%B3%BB%E9%9B%BB%E8%BB%8A). If it's OK with everybody, I suggest moving this page to "Meitetsu 2200 series" thanks haplo (talk) 16:05, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest that it is better to have separate articles for the 1700 and 2200 series, as they were built differently. Magazine articles have referred to the 1700 series sets independently, so I don't think we need to follow the Japanese Wikipedia custom of lumping everything together in one article if this is not absolutely necessary. --DAJF (talk) 04:06, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2300 series?[edit]

Should the 2300 series commuter cars be recognized here and on the 2200 series page? It appears that all of the 2300 cars are used with 2200 series express cars as of 2021. XtraJovial (talk) 19:28, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
