DONE! I may come back to do a bit of copyediting, but the translation is essentially done. Please help me out by proofreading and cleaning up this article! It's hard to ensure readability after being so close to the German version. LMGM (talk) 23:33, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Links to German pages for items that don't exist in English[edit]

As you can see in the "Project Site" section, there are a quite a few important Berlin locations and buildings that do not have a page in English, but do in German. I created the dead-end wiki links to the non-existent English pages to encourage the creation of new articles, but then I also included interlanguage links in brackets to show readers where to find the original German-language pages. I thought that this would be useful not only for future translators, but also for readers who do not read German but would like to see images of the locations and buildings mentioned.
However, I realize that this makes for bulky text, so I'm wondering if anybody has some suggestions for how to format this. I'm already thinking of using the "|" feature in the interlanguage wiki links to make them appear simply as "(in German)" or even "(:de)" instead of the whole article title. e.g.: "[[Jannowitzbrücke]] ([[:de:Jannowitzbrücke|de]])" to create Jannowitzbrücke (de).

UPDATE: I just changed the interlanguage links in the "Project Site" section to the format I proposed at the end of my last comment (above). The "History" section also features these less-obtrusive interlanguage links. LMGM (talk) 15:03, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This message is updated dynamically through the template {{source check}} (last update: 18 January 2022).

  • If you have discovered URLs which were erroneously considered dead by the bot, you can report them with this tool.
  • If you found an error with any archives or the URLs themselves, you can fix them with this tool.
